Campers entering grades 4 thru 6 in the fall will strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills by programming the Dash robot using block-based coding and by designing and enhancing apps with MIT App Inventor, incorporating AI integration.

Dash Robot:

Girls will bring coding to life with the Dash robot, taking on fun, grade-level challenges that teach sequencing, loops, conditionals, and debugging while building problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Scratch:
Girls will use Scratch's innovative tools to design, build, and launch grade-appropriate games. Through hands-on learning, they will explore the exciting possibilities of game creation while developing technical skills, creativity, and confidence as future technology innovators.

Campers entering grades 7 thru 9 in the fall will design and build fully functional mobile applications using MIT App Inventor and AI technology, while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on programming with LEGO SPIKE Prime robotics. They will explore core coding concepts and see how technology applies in the real world.

Lego Spike Prime Robot:
Girls will actively engage in hands-on programming with LEGO SPIKE Prime robotics, gaining practical experience in designing, building, and coding their own interactive robots. Through guided exercises, they will learn and apply core coding concepts—including loops, conditional statements, variables, and functions in a fun, tangible, and empowering way.

MIT App Inventor and AI:
Girls will use MIT’s innovative building tools and AI technologies to design and launch applications tailored to their grade level. Through this hands-on experience, they will explore the boundless potential of AI and build the skills and confidence to shape the digital future as creators.

During the camp, campers will interact with both professional women and men working in technological fields, providing them with a broader perspective on the exciting and rewarding careers available in technology.
