Dominate the School Year with MCWT’s Statewide Top Tech Competition!

This year’s theme, Tech for Good, challenges you to design a mobile app that tackles a social, environmental, school, or community issue. Build skills, gain confidence, and have fun turning your ideas into action! ​

​Compete on your own or team up with friends for this fun and inspiring competition. Don’t miss the chance to turn your ideas into action!

The application window is open to girls in grades 6 - 12. A parent or guardian must complete the registration on behalf of their daughter in order for her to participate in the competition.

Program Benefits: 

• Students will practice and improve their communication and presentation skills.

• Students will gain a working knowledge of mobile app development, including the use of global variables, procedures, and a storage database to store and retrieve live data.

• This competition is an excellent way for students to combine creative expression with technology while gaining mobile app development skills and confidence.  

This twelve-week competition includes training sessions that guide participants through the mobile app development process using MIT’s App Inventor, an intuitive, visual programming environment that allows for building fully functional apps for Android smartphones and tablets.

There is no cost to apply.   
  

*Participants will need a device (laptop, Chromebook, etc.) and internet access to participate in sessions and access the App Inventor site for programming their mobile app. Participants will also need access to a smartphone or tablet to run the mobile app; this device does not need a cellular connection, only Wi-Fi connectivity.
