We are looking for volunteers to support the 4/20/24 Girls Rock IT Event.

Day Of Support Time

Preparation Time

Check-in/escort support

  • Set up the check-in table by organizing name tags by last name and group (Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Parent, Volunteer)
  • Ensure parents sign their girls in on the sign-in/out sheet
  • Escort parents and girls to kick-off location.

 

 

7:30 – 10:00

None

Assemble swag bags/set-up breaks/lunch monitor

  • Put all items in swag bags and take bags to registration table before registration opens.
  • Set-up, monitor and clean-up food table for two breaks and lunch

 

7:30 – 1:30

None

Brownie session assistant (2nd & 3rd grade girls)

  • Assist girls with following along with the instructor (Scratch – drag and drop coding language)
  • Accompanying girls to breaks and restroom
  • Take photos during the session

 

7:30 – 1:30

2 – 3 hours to review material. This time includes a one-hour meeting with MCWT’s session instructor to answer questions and assisting with accessing the Scratch application.

Junior session assistant (4th & 5th grade girls)

  • Assist girls with following along with the instructor (Scratch – drag and drop coding language)
  • Accompanying girls to breaks and restroom
  • Take photos during the session

 

7:30 – 1:30

2 – 3 hours to review material. This time includes a one-hour meeting with MCWT’s session instructor to answer questions and assisting with accessing the Scratch application.

Cadette session assistant (6th – 8th grade girls)

  • Assist girls with following along with the instructor (App Inventor – block-based programming language)
  • Accompanying girls to breaks and restroom
  • Take photos during the session

 

7:30 – 1:30

2 – 3 hours to review material. This time includes a one-hour meeting with MCWT’s session instructor to answer questions and assisting with downloading the App Inventor application.

Check-out support - Ensure parents sign their girls out on the sign-in/out sheet.
